This morning on my way to work my 88' ranger started acting up. It is the 2.0L. I stepped on the gas pedal and it seems like it is bogging down or sucking in to much air. It hesitates for a sec or two and then starts to picks up speed.

need help please.

What's the weather like there? Due to the recent cold snap you are having if the humidity is right could be carburetor icing. Is it still doing it?

Plugged up air cleaner.

Plugged up exhaust, i.e. Cat converter is collapsing inside, this causes higher back pressure so RPM is sluggish, usually lower speeds are OK, higher speeds/RPM is where you first notice this.

Vacuum leak, hose just cracked

Fuel filter is getting clogged up.

Choke plate is loose

Loose nut holding on (to) the steering wheel, oh wait.......that's my ranger :)
