Kyle M's Ranger Rebuild

my dads 06 4x4 v8 is also the 6 lug like kris's

doesnt the 6 lug 8.8 come in f150's im almost positive thats what is in my 06 but it is 2wd... i know for a fact its a 6 lug lol. disk breaks too

newer f-150's come with a completely different rearend, its not an 8.8...i believe the change was in 98 with the rounded body style

its a very stout axle though, ive heard just under the strength of a sterling 10.25

It's a sterling 9.75 axle, and it's pretty stout, metric pattern, 98+ including some 97's started the 9.75 era....
SVT

Got some work done, still need to burn it all in. Gotta adjust the shackle angle too.

On it's own weight

Thats all!

Anyone need some extented ranger shackles? I can't use them, they are too long and give me too much lift. Make me an offer if you want em.

Them hitch pins are sexy, quick swap for revolver shackles on the trail? haha

does running the springs under the frame just allow better flex? im just asking cause i would think you want them further out to be more stable.

also where are you going to set the bump stops at so the axle tubes dont come up into the frame?

X2

I inboarded them for better flex. Basically changes my spring rate. I am not worried about the stability. They only moved in a few inches per side. Also it allowed me to remove the blocks. Double bonus IMO

Bump stops? IDK, might just use the frame, lol

very nice kyle moving it inboard! and glad to see others USW on the site!

Thanks. Thought it would be appropriate for what has been going on here in Indiana.

How can moving inboard make the spring rate different?

i do i do i do!!!!

looking good kyle, might want to look into putting one of those toyota style shackle mounts in the rear that have a johnny joint in them to keep the springs from twisting so much.

keep up the work it keeps getting better and better

Looking badass there Kyle:headbang:
