x2! and your still waay better off then i am my wheeling truck is still on 4 leaf springs but they all just got replaced 2 days ago so theyre gonna stick around 4 a while

how did you mount your shocks on the back?

I didn't yet, and I don't know how yet either. I might put them on the outsides of the frame to help with stability.

Alright, finished it up today. Drove it down the road at 55mph, no vibrations so I guess I did alright on my redrill and new drive shaft. Gonna have to relearn the truck with the new Hobart locker, tight turns on dry pavement feels funny. O-well, just need to get another quart of gear oil and add a vent to the axle (had to weld up the stock one, it was in the way) Then I will be ready to move on the the next mod, beadlocks.

With the inboarded leafs and airshocks up front I'd be leanin towards out boarding the rear shocks to regain some stability on the street... But let us know how it goes!

I totally agree with you and I wanted to do it, just didn't want to build new shock hoops yet to make my long shocks work. So I bought some cheap, $30 for both shocks and used my old spot. Driving down the road it didn't feel any different, we will see how it does on the trail

Going to the Badlands in a few weeks, might hit some trails to test it out before hand, we will see!

I may inboard my springs this summer. I'd like to get rid of my blocks and improve my rear travel. As for shock hoops, you could pick up some f250 towers and toss em on the back. Cheap and easy. Might look kinda jank compared to shock hoops though. Just a thought.

Thats a good idea, but I have the tube already and shock tabs, I will just bend some up when I feel less lazy
