Looks pretty bent, at the tie rod mount is is about 1/2" further in than the passenger side. Who's got a spare for me?? It's an 87, 60 incase some does have one theywanna sell.

Not sure what I'm gonna do....

check Hardlinecrawlers.com

I see knuckles for sale in there all the time...

Looks like it's time for a set of Crane or Reid knuckles, my friend.

Ding ding, thats the plan, just not right now. I located a set of replacments, I'm just gonna run those till I can afford a set of reids and then switch to high steer and hydro.

This wheeling BS is starting to cost me lots of money!

A guy on pirate cart wheeled his ultra 4 car said gusseted knuckles held up. Only problem with after market knuckles that I know of is none offer ford location for the steering arm there all chev.

For what it's worth, I'm very happy with my Reid's. Not cheap, but I felt they were the best option out there since I didn't want to chance the gussets on a vehicle I drive on the road. The Reid's are nice and beefy compared to the weak areas with the stock stuff.

Steering location difference doesn't matter when you're running high steer. And let's be honest, why wouldn't you run high steer in this sport? Unless you like bending steering linkage...

Not sure what the gussets would do on a street driven rig.

And some guys are low and have oil pan and frame clearance issues. Plus full hydro on just the studs on most high steer arms might shear (unless the arms are keyed or there like artec arms).

Idk, worry about it later. Appreciate the input.

Fixed for now

I guess I should clarify that a little more. I had cracked a stock ford knuckle about 65% of the way around the thinner section near the upper king pin. I didn't catch that I had cracked it and proceeded to drive it 2 hours home on the highway.

Thankfully it held together for the trip, but that could have wound up going very badly if it would have let go at 70 mph. So for the peace of mind, a new thicker part gave me the warm and fuzzies over doing gussets.

For a trailered rig, I'd just gusset it and call it good.

For the high steer stuff, Reid (and others) offer keyed options as well as 5 stud options. Full hydro can break anything though if you get stupid with it, so I see where your concern is there.

Didn't think about the potential clearance issue as well, just notch the oil pain if you need too :)

Kyle, that looks mo-betta.
