Kyle M's Ranger Rebuild

yeah, i'd keep it. it looks fine, it just has a large scrape on one side

It looks fine, until ya go to tighten the crap out of something and the side splits, and you smash knuckles on all four fingers and jam your thumbnail onto the corner of something and then drop your rachet and everything into some unreachable hole....

I'd get a new socket.

I think I will just save this one, prolly wont use it lol

Drove the truck around today, tranny works fine.

Started working on the bed more too, mounted some lights, bent some tube, started to add sorta a rear stinger to help fill out the back. But then I stopped, not sure I like it at all. Looks funny to me, but it is starting to grow on me. Input?

Gonna stand it up, tire tread hooks in the stinger

I don't think I'm a fan of the stinger. And I'd think for it to be useful it would have to point lower. :dunno:

Tie the stinger into the vertical bars in the bed... I think I like it.

what if the stinger folded down and the tire mounted to the stinger

The stinger/Tire holder will look fine once you get a tire in there. I'm not really digging the tail light area, but I don't know what to suggest to make it look better? Differnt light maybe? Idk.

Glad to hear its moving around just fine sans loose socket.

Put the rear on hold, gotta get a few things done so I can go do a shake down run next week.

Made my twin sticks today. I got a set of hand me downs when i was collecting parts but all they ended do was serving as a good visual reference. Only thing saved frim them was the actual handles.

Since my case was clocked up, the factory pivot point would no longer work so I relocated it up 3" and forward 2". I used some 3/8 ball joints and threaded rod for the links.

I am happy with how it turned out. Now I just gotta get out there and put it on.

Ditched the bushing and put in a heim joint in the anti wrap bar. Figured it was a good spot to carry a spare and should help my rear flex, or not hurt it.

Did some measuring on the rig,

Bottom of frame at the lowest point under the door area is 22"

Bottom of my door is 29", dont have rockers anymore, cut them off for slider.

Top of roof as good ad I can measure is about 75 to 76".

That is on 40" tires with 20 lbs in them.

I am happy with that. Gonna go out and fab a belly skid soon, then it will be pretty much ready to wheel.
