Kyle M's Ranger Rebuild

That truck is very similar to what I was driving while my ranger was down. Pulled my truck fine, but the brakes were a bit lacking. I'd looking into trailer brakes if I were hauling it around regularly.

Good call, I just sent him a message asking that, forgot to ask.

x2 on the trailer brakes, almost a must if you plan on going far at all

Yup, it has electric brakes...all set. Just need to get a controller for it

loks like he just set the bed side over the tube then used self tappers to hold it in place instead of the regular spot welds. then theres going to be the regular supports to stop it from flopping in the wind

Exactly.

damne thats shitty. what a beautiful car that was makes me not want to drive either of my mustangs in the rain now

Welp, change of plans, I am gonna sell the doubler and go automatic. I found a good deal on a C4 tranny that I can bolt my 1354 case onto, but I don't think I will need the doubler with the 5.0.

Anyone wanna buy it? $350 OBO

The new line up is gonna be a built 5.0, c4 auto and a 1354.

That would be cool. I don't have the money for it though.

i know how you feel.. doubler on a d28 ttb... :dunno: :icon_rofl::icon_rofl:
i don't have the money to do both. a doubler would make me want more tire which would make me need more axle than the plan.....

your has the one piece shaft doesnt it?

No he has the welded two piece.

If you haven't ran a doubler or been in a RBV with a doubler then you have no idea just how awesome it is. Esc when crawling in rocks or crawling in general. Esc. with a manual trans.

I absolutely loved having my 50/54 doubler when I ran my explorer and b2. Double low 1st gear (5spd) and nothing you did would make it stall pretty much. The amount of driving ability obtained from not having to slip the clutch or anything like that is priceless. I would still have it if I didn't go v8 and auto. If I ever build another 4.0L rbv wheeler I will be building another doubler.

Yup, doubler and an auto = "meh" (slush box pretty much negates the need for a doubler IMHO)

Doubler and a manual = "its fun to wheel again"

I haven't had mine on the trail yet, but just farting around with it in the yard has given me an idea as to how awesome it'll be.

x2 auto kinda negates the need for the doubler, but a doubler with a manual = teh shiznits.
