Kyle M's Ranger Rebuild

Well, guess I should update this. Took it out wheeling last weekend and broke it again. I ended up splitting the yoke on the front output of the case, apparently you can remove too much material

When the yoke broke it took out my front twin stick shifter linkage.

Gonna run 1330 joints now and I am gonna try and fit a cv in there so I can use all my travel.

Gotta get it ready soon, going south in a couple weeks. Need to make a skid and a drive shaft.

Oh, and it runs way better now.

Where you heading to?

Badlands for the first trec race and a little bit of wheeling, gonna be there Friday the 30th.

Damn. Heading to Harlan the week after. A couple guys from here are heading up there though.

Your linkage looks like it only needs a new rod in it.

I think you need to be a touch lighter on the skinny pedal.

Yeah, I have a whole chuck of threaded rod, got it all fixed.

Lol, skinny pedal makes it fun, just need to find the weak links and that is helping :icon_twisted:

Alright, did some looking and found I can fit a cv in my front shaft, so that should help me get some strength. I have 3, 1310 cv ranger shafts so I ordered a np 205 1310 cv yoke so now I just need to shorten a shaft and I will be all set.

Also, I ordered my steel to build my exo today. Decided to go with ASTM A500 grade B structure steel pipe, with a 1.25 ID, .140 wall, 1.660 OD. Should be just fine and the price was right. Gonna start in 2 weeks.

isnt.it.kinda late for.an.exo? lol im scared to see how you drive when u get a cage...

Lol, never too late. I have some new fenders I'm gonna put on too.

I just don't wanna kill me and my truck.

That's a good idea, seeing some of those videos of you on YouTube. Lol

Front drive shaft made and Installed, swapped out wedge bushings for better pinion angle, fixed tcase shifter, made a skid plate frame, just need to skin it with some 3/16, and put longer shocks in the rear along with some shock hoops.
