Kyle M's Ranger Rebuild

Yes... I want them to win but I do not watch sports. But your like post whoring in all threads? Idk...

What are you worried about? What's one more useless post in a 119 page build thread? Don't get your panties in a bunch. It's a joke between our club.

There is a lot of good content in my build.

I don't feel like searching through the thread, how did you mount the slidders? I have a rust spot on the rocker and want to cut out the whole rocker and make some kind of slidder similar to what you did.

I plated the frame with 3/8 flat stock, then used 3, 2x2, 3/16 wall square per side, welded to the frame.

Well it has been a busy week working on the truck. First thing I did was remove my stock pump. I need something better but saginaws are hard to come by so I decided to port and shim my bypass. In doing so I gained more volume and more psi ( I think) to allow it to wok better. Along with doing the pump I swapped my steering box for a non leaking one and added a cooler. So far of seems like it is working much better. I will find out tomorrow.

Next I added new tail lights in the rear crossmember. Just got some cheap led round markers to use them for stop lamps considering I don't drive on the steer, these turned out nice IMO.

So next, I decided I hated the look of the truck with no bed and got to cutting up my new bed. I did a comp cut and narrowed the rear about 12" total then capped the ends. I plan on running some tube down the sides to help beef it up, just no time yet. It is pretty stout now compared to the old set up.

Then this morning I got up and painted it, installed it and comp cut the front. Good enough for now. I plan on redoing some stuff when I run tube so it isn't finished yet.

Sweet, looks cool!

Do what 86 slo-vo did to the Explorer, run the tube right at the edge of the body panel and weld them together, that way it will help protect the edges of the bed, also those flat back parts would be a great place to install 4" led tail lights.

Thanks guys!

I probably will wait to do any tube work till after I swap axles. I plan on shortening the bed and frame another 6" or so. I think it will look better after that too. I have some good ideas for some tube work right now
