Now I am having second thoughts about tearing the truck down, I think I wanna keep it together for the summer, then in that time I can save and buy the rims and tires I want, then swap and part out after that. Maybe i will use that money for an exo or something cool like that. I might just do the motor and axles at the same time.....I kinda just wanna wheel it.
Any way, went out wheeling last weekend, no damage, just a whole lotta fun with some great friends. Got a video
At one point when the camera man is on top of the hill and I go up the left side, that is the spot I broke at a few weeks back.
I know where ya commin from Kyle....just went through the same thing myself....
a couple weeks ago when we went to Turkey Bay I found out my welded rear was only powering the passenger side tire....needless to say that only having the passenger rear tire working was not good at all....
so, I said to myself that I wasn't gonna go through any effort or $$ to fix that axle since I have a swap planned in August/September when I will have all the parts collected....
needless to say, I wanted to wheel before the swap....so last weekend Dustin traded me his good 8.8 under his trailer for my 8.8, and Greg welded the spiders while Dustin and I took my old axle out of my truck....
Now I can wheel this summer til I have all my parts accumulated
Doing the same thing here. I know i said i was doing the LS this winter, but I am more worried about getting everything at the house before i tear it down. What is the use of it sitting there not working while youre still getting stuff together when it was working fine before?
cant blame you at all...this summer is deffinantly a bummer for me selling the truck mid season. but to make things work like i wanted it was now or never.
just hope i can have mine back on the trails by atleast spring. i guess im just a web wheeler until then
Went out yesterday to Bundy Hill, had a great time. I only scared myself once lol. I was going up a washout and got about 3/4 the way up there and stalled my truck, then started rolling backwards since the brakes don't work well when it isn't running, did that 2 times right in a row and all I could thinkabout was flipping it over and rolling down that hill....I ended up backing down and taking a break for a bit haha
Other wise had a lot of fun, put it on it's side once and 3 wheeled a bunch of times and pretty sure I 2 and one wheeled too. Only damage I got was a marker lite, bent my D ring on the rear really bad and I am pretty sure my box will never be the same. Here are a few pictures.
The picture on it's side, I drove thru it, that was fun
Exactly what happened to me. Killed it going up a hill, no brakes, backward roll, and sideplant. Upgraded my master cylinder and added a check valve and they work great now
