Kubota diesel in my 4x4 ranger

I have a 2000 ranger 4x4 with a 3.0 and an automatic transmission. Is there any way to make the auto full manual with some sort of electronic shifter? Can all the necessary sensors be duped into this king the 3.0 still resides in there so the computer will manage the shift patterns? Any ideas guys? Or should I just convert it over to a m5od.
