the problem is phone's in general. i'll leave that at that.

hopefully more wheelin pics this weekend. but we will see i'm honestly not feelin it right now. I Love Snow wheelin but it feels So F'n cold out right now. THINKING of crawling under my rig in the snow right now damn near put's me into hypothermic shock

Awesome pics , and SEND SOME OF THAT SNOW HERE TO PA SOON.. roflol

buddie with the s10 picked up some 40's and installed his winch on friday which was perfect timing since we got nailed with over 24" of snow in the past week. so for the occasion i swaped the 38's back on. we both aired down to the 5psi region . alot of the wheelin was done at idle and we made it damn far. as soon as you spun you sunk so we did alot of miles at speeds slower than a walk. but we were able to just crawl thru dern near everything within reasone

one of the few times being actually stuck. most of the time we were able to simply back up a couple feet and get a little momentum and coutinue on like it never happened. oh yeah and intresting both being stuck at the same time. just outta winch reach

here is the end of the trail for us. dont really think there was any way to make it over around or thru this without a couple hours of digging

So that's where all the snow went this year. we've only got and inch total this year.

just recieved all of this in the past week. before that there hasnt been much. we are 46inches below average right now.

I'm not dead

well a little update. stripped the rear bumper and reciever off and working on making new with better clerance.
Every last bit of snow we have here is GONE. it all melted in the matter of two weeks. for those past two weeks we have had record temps up in the 70+ every day and its only droping to mid 50s at night. im not positive its here to stay but i'll enjoy it while it is.

My steering has been lookin rather shady so i decided to pull the trigger on the one ton GM stuff. which will get it OTN. if that doesnt make me happy I still have a drop pitman arm i can try and make work. then all that i have to do is remake the axle side trac bar so that all should be here monday. and should be on shortly after
The folowing saturday we will be heading north for our annual "SPRING" run. might be the first year ive ever had to fight dust on the way up. however we took a ride up last weekend and it was a good 20 deg cooler and they still had over a foot of snow in the woods and there was still snow/ice covering the road in spots and we didnt even go as far as the plow line. i'm sure there will still be snow or mud in spots
Two weeks after that is the Trail Cats (college club) spring opener in the area here and hopefully i'll still be in one piece and be going on that as well. but only time will tell as of right now the truck will be in the garage until i get the steering done and the rear bumper done. after that i hope to have a good summers worth of wheeling before serious repairs and/or rebuilding is needed

I wish i had that much snow where i live!!

at the end of the year i was rockin the SX's with 3-5 psi. they did amazing so long as you didnt spin much since they really like to dig. really had to rely on low gearing no throttle. i feel that was the best setup i ran all year on the explorer. they did come off for the summer allready in favor of some tire's that will go down to road better (more on that later).
as for the s10 the tall skinny tsl's did good in the begining of winter when you could still get to the ground without getting axled. but once we got significant snow he switched to the dick C's which seemed to do allright. thye floated very well but as soon as you spun it would gloss up the packed track and you would loose all traction in that area

snow is a wierd terrain to wheel in. it's allways changing even minute by minute. driving style was allways changing and somtimes you would need to have descent momentum to continue forward movement and sometimes you would just have to creep along as slow as possiable as if you were sneaking over the top of the snow.

Next winter i dont plan on wheelin my truck i didnt get all the work done on it that I should have and now it sits in the garage waiting for parts and it is beautiful. the snow is gone and most of the trails are drying as we speak. all I can hope to salvage for this year is the spring run up north. other than that there are the typical summer spur of the moment wheeling trips as well.
