knowledge wanted on swapping dashes

On my 93' ranger the old dash is worn out and just plain outdated looking, is it possible to swap in a dash from a newer truck? not too picky on which one just yet just wanting to know if anyone has done it and if so how hard was it. Any replies are appreciated
