tore out most of my wiring for my ignition swap- half of it is laying over my passenger fender, a bunch is still connected accross the engine- The main bundle that is going through the firewall to the computer do I just cut that big damn bundle and pull it from both sides or do I gently separate it all cause of wires that may control heater, ac and wiper stuff?? where does the starter solenoid wire come from?? My son has an 80s camaro that they just hacked the bundle in half and his car is all screwed up. HELP PLEASE-

DO NOT HACK THE HARNESS. Hit the tech library and you'll be fine. You can also use a GM 4 pin HEI module for a 78 Camaro with a 350. The DuraSpark works better in the cold though because it has a spark retard feature for easier starts. Up high the HEI rocks and it doesn't have a rev limiter!

I started by removing all the smog crap, vac lines next to the starter sol. etc.. that took out alot of the confusion, then you can see where the starter wire comes from I didn't touch the ignition stuff at all on the pass fender well. as for the wiring harness I removed the pass. side interior kick panel where the computer is, disconnected it and then unbolted the wire harness/fire wall plug and then fished the entire harness through out towards the front of the truck. If I recall correctly, the heat/wiper etc.. wires were not involved at all. I didn't have a/c though. It gets better, just don't over think it.

definately overthinking it!! Have the duraspark all hooked up, spliced up and engine turning over- don't have my carb on yet so don't know if the sparkies are all working- but will find out tomorrow!!!

Going to do what you say- unhook, fish through and see what it left still hooked up!!! I did find one little peculiar thing that has not been addressed- It looks like the knock sensor- WTF is that thing do?? I'll ask with a different thread
