A legend to the old man, a hero to the child...
By our town roscoe and enos.

Ive had 4 "run ins" in the last month, all for petty BS. I got a parking ticket with my 97, for parking in the same place i had for years, its in a parking lot and not marked no parking.

Now, this morning, i get stopped for the THIRD time since ive been driving rusty 2.0, all have been BS stops, first time was i had a crack in my taillight lens, second was a friggin sidemarker out, and this morning it was a plate light out, doin 33 in a 30 (seriously), loud exhaust and no seatbelt (ok ok, ill take that one, got a ticket for the seatbelt).

But what irks me is i ran my 77 F250 around this town for years with any manner of lights out, loud(er) exhaust, no seatbelt, whatever and never got screwed with.

I feel like for whstever reason the ranger is a target

Reads like the towns are trying to raise some money :)

Taxes might not be covering the deficit this year

Thats bs to, seein as how they scrape 1% of mine, and everyone elses income off the top, not to mention my damn property tax going up.

Oh well, guess they gotta pay for the new dpw trucks, the new ambulance, fire truck, police crusier and ground maintence equipment they just bought to replace the old ones they just bought 2 years ago.

I have no idea why in a town of 2200 or so we need 3 police criusers (an exploder, charger, and the old standby vic that comes out when the other two are broke

Also paying 225,000 dollars to replace a parking lot that might see 3 cars a day, and walking trails no one uses.

I bet if you show up at a city council meeting and make a stink, things might move in your favor. I'd fight each and every ticket in court too. Make them work for it if they're gonna keep up the petty crap. This is assuming you're an otherwise upstanding citizen.

Last time I got pulled over was for driving with my lights off (they were definitely turned on) when I was DD for my girlfriend and her friends. The cop looked like he just turned 13. He got all flustered when I called him on his BS, then he broke his breathalyzer and tried leaving with my driver's license in his pocket. I'm a pretty upstanding citizen in every aspect and haven't even had a speeding ticket in well over a decade but virtually every encounter has turned out like that... their training apparently covers mostly shooting first and collecting fines these days. Sad, really, I wanted to be a cop when I was a kid.

I was pulled over a few weeks ago because he couldn't see my brake lights at a stop sign.

He commented that once I turned to a side street and pulled over then he could see them but they were not very bright. He said since they are working you probably don't have anything to worry about as far as having to fix it, kinda laughed it off as it being weird and was super cool about it.

I got home and it has been a screwed up mess getting them to work right. He couldn't have known but pretty much every light on the back of the truck was messed up, if it had been dark I wouldn't have had any tail lights or license plate lights, blinkers/brakes were there but like 1/4 power.

I appreciated being informed I had a lighting problem before I got rear ended, he was cool about it and just gave me a fix it ticket. I have since gotten everything to work but somehow now the domelight/radio doesn't work right, that is tonight's project.

I like cops. Been a couple negative incidents over the years but on the whole they've been respectful and professional.

Im thinking of running for coucil next election, same people run unopposed and its been the same people for years. Im well known in the town (mainly for my trucks and willingness to lend a hand, hell i scrape snow in about 1/4 of the driveways in town...for free), i volunteer at the senior center, my house/yard is well kept, etc. Although city hall hates me cause ive called them out on numerous things.

I even have to buy a permit every year to have my camper at my house, because the truck/trailer combo is over 5 ton on a city street.

I thought about fightin it, but bein a seatbelt ticket with no points itll get laughed at, if he woulda wrote me up for the 3mph over then yes, hell would have been risen.

Next time you get pulled over for a BS reason just mess in your pants and drool a little...

I don't understand how voting for democrats will help anything.
