I just bought a truck and it has manual locks but i wanna get keyless entry and power locks. Can you use any keyfob to program into your truck or does it need to be specificly for a ford ranger?

I once had to install solenoid locks on my hyundai and that gave me power locks but i dont know how to find out if i have power locks or not?

Don't put money on my word on this, but if you did not have electric locks from the factory you don't have the ''brain'' for the remote, and I'll tell you the OE unit is not all that great, if i were you I'd just get a cheep or good alarm you'll get better ranger and a alarm, and just wire it in when you do the lock actuators.

If you don't have a button in side the cab you more then likely don't have PDL. Sorry about the double post.

ya theres no button, i dont think id need it though its more for just locking and unlocking both doors to get in or get out. but thanks for the info ill look into the alarm systems

Well if all you want is switched in the door panels you can do that, just install the lock solenoids, a switch or two and some relays, we did that to my buddy's car as well as an alarm.
