So im considering building a sub box where the tire iron carrier is in the back seat for a 12 inch Kicker that my racing buddy has laying around. It apparently is a two core(?) and only one of them is working. I figure that small of a truck doesn't need a lot of boom boom in it, so might as well work with what I've got, right?

Should I just build it out of wood and cover it with the same color carpet as the interior or just paint it?

it does, a mix of a bad tune and me not realizing they didnt mark the end of the quarter mile caused that stupid second time. I basically coasted across the line from the eighth mile. It was 100% my fault for that time. I'm increasing the spark advance and gonna make a run sometime this month

After christmas update!
Got some new speakers and decided to go a different route on the install. Didn't feel like pulling the door panels, didn't wanna build a box, so I made those little jump seats in the back useful!

Installed!

Best part is, the seat is still functional if you weigh less than 50 pounds!

Now I know that it isn't really helping the boom of the music, but the sound is crystal clear and thats what I wanted. I may go back and take the foam out and build a wooden box (still keeping the look of the seat) just for acoustic purposes, but thats later. I also have a 12 inch Hartkey that needs an amp and a box that I'm saving for a later date.

Next on the list: New billet grille and black headlights.

On a side note, is it possible to find out the exact date a truck rolled off the assembly line? I'd like to get the truck a proper large functional hood scoop for its birthday

........but the power gains are noticeable. Nothing that makes me say that i can outrun everything on the road, but it makes driving a little bit more fun........

Really?? Louder does not equal more power.....but you realize that now after your trip to the track. People talk all they want but the 1320 proves it!!

And if you want a functional scoop....build it! Sorry, but I'm not a big fan of Walmart stick-ons.

Damn that is a whole lot faster than my truck. I think I ran at best 16.7 @ 77

Yeah I reckon the performance values I had *thought* I had gained were mainly in my head. But that doesn't say that it doesn't sound like it means business. I can't wait till I can get me a wideband so I can do a proper detailed tune with my tuning software

And on another note, what style scoop do ya guys think looks best on this gen Ranger? I've been looking around and I was thinking almost the old boss 429 scoop, but I'm not sure

All steel and made it myself! Just sectioned the stock hood, raised the center panel and added filler panels down the sides....it's open in the rear and fully functional.

I'm going to make another that looks like the hoods being put on the new Dodge Ram's with a slightly raised center panel and the small scoops that are open in the front. Kinda like this....

I like the second one also. I'll lay out the design to cut and raise the panel then block it up to the height I like. The front will stay connected andI'll work toward the rear. From their I'll make templates for the filler panels, cut them from metal and start tacking in the pieces.

I'll see if I can find pics of when I made the cowl hood.

LMC makes cowl hoods...but I don't think they are the best looking

See I wouldn't trust myself with welding the aluminum hood on my truck AND make it look good. You did a good job on that cowl, and I'd definitely like to see those pics.

I was looking at the LMC cowls, but I find that cowls belong on the older Rangers. They just look at home there

I forgot the newer trucks have aluminum hoods....the newest Ranger I have is a 1988. And it also packs a V8!!

V8 is where its at! I at one point had both a 302 and a 460 set aside at the shop for me but this 4.0 just won't quit! I'm not complaining though, its surprisingly powerful for a v6
