Hard to find and expensive.

Out here we joke about having to pay "the sunshine tax" but it's not really a joke, everything here costs a bit more. For an example-dozen eggs is about $3.00 here and about $2.00 in Saskatoon.

Rental housing is just as bad, vacancy is painfuly low and prices are high. 1bedroom apartments start at about $550.00/month (for a dumpy place in the "wrong" part of town).

But it's all worth it for the privilege of living here...


Do you have a trade certificate or diploma/degree of any sort? That makes it much easier to find work here.

didnt grad im acedemicly retarted but life\experience smart any auto wreckers that way or lordco's that pay good? ive worked for lordco be4 and ive done the autowreckers parts puller thing

Didn't even grad high school you mean? That'd make it pretty close to impossible to find work here period. There is 2 Lordco's here, but I don't imagine they pay any more than $10-12/hr (you'd need min $15 just to get by) and the wreckers here are pretty well all run by either a family or a "motorcycle club".

Start making some phone calls down here and fax some resumes around, see what you can come up with. This town is all about knowing someone.....

More than 60% of our employment is directly driven by the construction biz so right now with things a slow as they are on the jobsite there is a huge number of people looking for work right now.

I get at least one or tow resumes a day and I'm not even hiring or advertising right now.

that bites....while i was up there i seen a clean 89-92 super cab 4x4 blue ranger just stock but the guy said call back in september......whats the "outskirt" towns round kelowna likr for price???i went thru rutland on my way there and back cuz i took the paulson to the kootenays
