ok im posting this so that others may benifit from it . Oh and im happy that i solved it
.
I bought this 86 ranger super 4x4 forabout 500 bucks beds a bit beat up but the cab is clean and it was running pretty good when i looked at it . or so I thought. I drove about 90 miles to pick this thing up and on the way home about 20 miles into the trip it started bucking like crazy and I couldnt give it enough thottle to do anything except keep a steady speed. It stalled 3 times on the way home and wouldnt start for about 15 or 20 min. at first i thought maybe the fuel pump was getting hot and failing. well i finally got it home and the next day wouldnt start at all. checked the fuel pressure and it was fine . Thats when I found TRS
respect!! Faulty tfi (controll module) replaced ran good for about a week then it got hard to start and finally no start at all check fuel good check spark not so good bright red orange spark check coil and omg 600 ohms across primary when it should be about .8 to 1.0 new coil started right up. Now I no this is kinda wierd but when i got the truck i filled it up and the gauge only went to a little under 3/4 But when (and i have no idea why) after I put the new coil on the fuel gauge works perfectly
any ways thanks to every one here Im a new member and well
