O-O-O-O-O-O-O-K-K-K-K-K.........................

My new lifetime alternator.....................

Bolted in & connecting wiring....................

New battry behind passenger's seat under floorboard.....................

Fried accessory outlet....fried assorted wiring from under dash.....(should have installed a relay to the On/Off switch for the transmission overdrive solenoid---duhhhh).....

Now....need to finish wiring to heater blower and the radio................

Alternator is rewired with heavier wires....

Fried dash wires are repaired...........

A/C & heater wires reconnected to proper OEM wires & fuses....

Everything works great....no more drop in voltage when lites/cooling fan comes on....

Engine cranks much faster/better now!

3 hour test run.....O.K.

(now to cut out unused ratnest wires under dash)


Broke a motor mount weld/didn't get the weld hot enough to penetrate enough.......now I know where that slightly noticeable cab vibration is coming from!

I gonna jack the engine up an inch or too on the broke side....

unbolt the mount from the motor & the frame.....

weld it up right this time....

reinstall same.....

I finally got to the broken weld on the passenger side motor mount brace....

the big thing on the left is the 02 sensor......the crack is to the right---seems like when I was mocking up the engine mounts---I just put one bead there in case I needed to grind the bracket aloose to re-adjust the engine...


the other thing that I took a chance on was the drain plug in the torque converter....

there was only 1/4" of space between the inside wall of the converter and the housing of the lock-out clutch.....

once the drill went into the converter I used a small magnet to remove the metal chips from drilling and tapping for the 1/8" pipe plug....it was fun when all that transmission fluid poured onto the drill "bit"......ssssppppprrrraaayyyyyy!
