Just Plain Stupied

Going to check on paint progress Monday
....there's been a lotta wrecks in the area (caint mix rain & louisiana drivers),
so I could get bumped down at the body shop,
but that was part of the deal since they worked my truck into their schedule

Edit: yep, got bumped down (or up into next year!)

Dang, that's a bit of work!

It will be nice to drive though. The old look with new frame, steering, and suspension!

I love those exhuast tips, too.

I will say it again, I love this build, get it done so I can nominate it for stotm.

Thanks for the encouragement--I've probably got a day in removing the original ranger body/

a day in stripping the firewall of components & pulling all the wiring out of the truck/

a day in running the oem Ranger wiring in the '36 cab/

a day in locating everything on the '36 firewall/

a day in mounting the '36 cab & welding braces for the running boards to bolt on/

a day in re-arranging the alternator, p/s pump, radiator, grill, & electric fan/

a day to put in IDIDIT steering, lower truck 3"/5", & align front end (using info in the Tech Library) /

a day installing floor-shift, replacing cat.converter, running fake dual exhaust & installing harley davidson mufflers to make it sound like a 289c.i./

AND a week in sorting/labeling all the wires for new gages, cruise, signals, etc. (I used all the original wiring to tie all the new stuff in, but it would have been a lot faster to run new wires to each component!)

a day chasing down all the parts.

But it wuz Fun skint nukls & all

FERGOT: 9 days reading tech articles

And it has only taken six months to get 2 weeks worth of work done (one of the side effects of those V.A. drugs must be........ s-l-o-w.......... m-o-t-i-o-n

ooo-riginal from the throttlebody down

Hey gunner.... I'm new to this site and was just looking around a little..when I saw your post on the Harley exhaust , I got to thinking I must have some brain damage to, because I put twin Harley Pipes on my 79 Ford Courier (heres a pic)....Oh yeh...nice project ya got goin there.......:icon_cheers:

:icon_rofl: A-parrot-ly we both got the smae..same brain damage, but don't the exhausts sound a lot better with the chrome harley mufflers sticking off the end of the pipes--who woulda thought--woah...what happend to your pic?:icon_surprised:

--Also, talked to the painter--he's got a '68 camaro ahead of my truck & said it'll probably be the middle of January before my truck is finished. With the quality of work he does, I'm willing to wait till then even tho I'd like to assemble it for Christmas.

Hmmmm--That'll give me time to build a roll cage for the cab!:icon_welder: (my wife rolled our explorer .... too bad the engine seized up while it was up-side down still running & the roof smashed down to the head rests
--I'd like to maintain a little more headroom than that!
Note: never release seat belt when sitting up-side down in a vehicle
--no matter how bad you wanna leave the truck
--wait for help...
she's O.K. except for a badly sprained neck
---she said she DID NOT want to be in the truck if it caught fire!!!:headbang:)

Ain't all these goofy little critters great :icon_hornsup:

I finally decided to move the license plate from the upper left bumper area
-it kept getting bumped every time someone would go around that side of the truck
(see picture #16...)
