Time for new plug wires!!!!!

:yahoo:

.....devloped a miss at idle over the last few month....now 2 misses....

I wasn't paying attention & didn't do a good job routing the wires around the headers ......can anybody say "toasted a couple"........

EDIT: Well... talk about highs and lows...life gets rough "occasionally".....I got so down-----nearly put the Ranger up for sale...

I miss my son so much......it'll be 6 years next Sunday......

Finally changed the plugs.....

two plugs were getting fouled because of fried plug wires too close to the headers

one plug had a crack down the length of the porcelin

it idles great when warming up on cold mornings now!

RATTTTTTTTTTTTS! Time for the yearly State Safety Inspection.......

gotta find/fix that loose left-turn-signal wire connector first......

EDIT Friday: hot wire to turn signal was nicked....took an hour to find the bad spot/crimp a wire connector on it/good to go........

headed to the inspection station now with my $20 in cash-only(no checks/credit cards)......

Gonna see son-in-law while I'm on that end of town...the chemotherapy has him really tired...

It passed the State Safety Inspection...... :yahoo:

If I drank-----I'd be passed out by now..............:icon_bounceblue:

Congrats DG! When I take my car in for inspection, I pace the floor like I'm waiting for a child to be delivered. I'm a Nervous Nellie when someone else has it.

Great news, but you built it right, so I'm not surprised.

Thanks...but the photos make it look good...with the meds I'm on---they are the cause of lots of "OOOOPS" that the camera misses.... :icon_bounceblue:

Oh, I'm sure it's a blast to drive. Good thing it has a windscreen, or I'm sure you'd be pickin the bugs out of your teeth from that big grin.

Don't feel bad about the other. I just repacked the front bearings in the BII today. This is a job I've done a hundred times if I've done it once. Had to wrap things up for a few hours, but had time to get the left side done before I quit. I decided to jump in and pump up the brakes to set the caliper, and pumped it a few times. then a few times more, and it wasn't getting firm...

Then I remembered that I had already taken the right side apart, too.

Luckily, I could push the piston back into the caliper, and didn't tear the boot. Topped off the res, and was back in business.

Not sure what I did to get off light, but I'll take it.

Keep the rubber on the road,

:icon_rofl: yep......been there too!

Sorry for not posting lately.....still in a slump at this time of year...(see page #1)

BUT.....I drive the Ranger locally every few days just to cheer-up a little...

gotta get under it & put a new oil filter on it ....

(midway between oil changes I always replace the oil filter/add a quart....it keeps the oil looking nice & clean----just something I learned from being a helicopter mechanic/doorgunner)

on a sidenote....that DreamBeam front suspension is work every penny!

Just trying to post a weekly update....still in a slump over the holidays.....will force myself to buy a new oil filter and a couple extra quarts of oil for the Ranger.....

note to myself:Stupied me----- NEVER SAW THE CHOKE PLATE OFF THE TOP OF A GOOD CARB TO GET BETTER AIR FLOW (even though it helps)....STALLS OUT TOO MUCH ON COLD DAYS UNTIL THE ENGINE WARMS UP!

Speakin' of air-flow...

two words...

super charger

That all I'm sayin'.

:icon_rofl:

:yahoo:

that's all I'm sayin'
