just plain stupid, doing a sbc swap w/blackwidow

Waaaahaaa.......I thought you fergot about that.......I'm gonna dump a couple cans of Seafoam in the intake to see if I can get compression up on #5 &&&&&&&& back-off -then- over- torque head-bolts on #2 to see if I can get the coolant leak to slow down/stop/or get worse......WaaaaaaaHaaaaaaHaaaaawheeze

and go from there................................................................................................................

just be careful, dont crack the head or you will be doing the 350 swap sooner than later. just make sure you stick to your roots and put the 350 in there, were in this together man. were gonna get through this. just take it slow, and everything will work out fine.

u got it...........that's why i wuz gonna yank down the ranger headbolts real tight on the leaky side........it's either gonna fix the problem, or get the sbc installed a lot faster.....
WWWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

EDIT:..........just remembered........i havnt taken my meds in 4 daze.......did i mention the side effect of thhe medication is a loss of memory?
WWWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

Haha, I suspect the outcome will be the latter, especially if you reuse the TTY head bolts. :icon_thumby: Might be worth fixing a little better just to drive it. IMO I wouldn't care if that thing had an 65hp 4 banger, that thing is freaking awesome. That V8 will take some time definitely.

I was rebuilding an engine for my minibike, started on it 3 years ago, sat in pieces because I "wanted to do it right." Just threw it all back together last week with my "stroker" mod (Animal crank and rod in an Intek Briggs motor w/ mild steel cam) and I am just going to ride the damn thing already this summer. :)

u win......new bolts/headgasket....1 can seafoam....just fo fun!!!!

Ride dat mini!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yo, blackwidow......what'd you do that the Mod's made you a 5 star General so fast (it took me 3 years just to make Sargeant in the armmmmmm-meee!)

I tell ya.....I don't get any respect!!!!!

this thread be a 5 star thread!!!!.......the last time I looked.

doorgunner, (thats cuz i voted it a 5-star thread) just dont tell nobody. waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

The 700 is the better choice because of the OD and if it is a rebuilt all the better.
As has been said the 7.5 should work BUT dependent on tire size and how heavy your foot is.

The 7.5 posi on my '88 TRX held up well with a 5.0L/C-4 and a lot of smoke shows for 5+ years and I sold it with it so your should be able to get by.

Luck.

p.s. Did you know that the SBChebby was designed at Ford and Ford rejected it.

Hmmm..........

Did you know that the SBChebby was designed at Ford and Ford rejected it.
==========================================
If there's any truth to that, Ford sure shot themselves in the foot!!!:icon_confused:

Now there's several of em hoppin around with a big toe blowed off!!!!!!

EDIT: I got the cab/chassis back from Expert Collision/gonna get it safety inspected (yearly La. law) with the oem 2.9 in it.....

ok so im leaning towards either a th350 or a th700r4 trans instead of a manual. probably the 700 for the overdrive plus mine is already rebuilt. my question is, the engine is about 200 horse. will my 7.5 rear hold? its just a dd. and if i put 2 electric fans on the rad that run all the time. will the stock rad be ok, or is there a cheap upgrade from a bronco or explorer that fits? thanks

If you really wanna standard the borg warner tranny outta sonoma/s10's witht the 4.3 are direct bolt up to the 350 bellhousing. If this is useless info or you've already finished it or something, sorry but i really dont wanna read 14 pages about a ford with a chev. engine. haha

It's already did........but that's good info........
