The stockers are shot... very very shot. Very very very very shot. I'm talkin bounce every corner of the truck and watch it rebound 4-5 times.

Did I mention that they are shot??? Anywho

I WAS going to get a set of Monroe Reflexes, until I got it pounded into my head to go the Bilstein route... of which I completely forgot about Bilstein. Long story short, I've got a full set of them coming my way, thanks to AJUSA.

So, what do you fine fellas think of them? I'll be towing power equipment, a lil bit of off-roadin here and there and of course stuck to the pavement daily. One last thing, I did hit up the search feature, but didn't find anything on them that was useful. All I found out of it was "go bilstein", nothing real specific.

I just ordered some 5125's for my rear axle last week and I expect to have them on by this weekend so I'll let you know what I think of 'em :headbang:

Did you get yours yet or are you still waitin on them?

They are finally here and installed. The stock shocks were so shot... people asked why I bought new ones. Soon as I compressed them (originals), everyone else started laughing. There wasn't anything left in them.

Bilstein's are VERY popular, probably what I'll get when I want to upgrade from a stock style shock.

I just got my 5125's on last weekend and I think they ride pretty nice, a whole heckuva lot better than the previous two brands of shocks I've owned on my truck. Highly recommended.

kemo, You got the right ones for a stock setup. I got the same ones from AJUSA about a year ago. I think they are perfect, although, I have heard from a few other people that think they are a little too stiff. I always thought the original Bilsteins that came with my FX4 from Ford were a little too soft.

You could buy the FX4 level II Bilstein shocks from Ford for a slightly softer ride but they are considerably more expensive.

heh, they are probably the same, but just with a Oval on it to bring up the "value".

Well, I've got a few thousand miles on them now... I'm more confident to say that I'm glad I went with these over Monroe shocks... or even Ranchos. Yeah it is still a rough ride, but what ranger actually isn't? I've never been in a "smooth" riding ranger.

I had them on my 94 with a leveling spacers and 31s and they worked great off-road, on-road, i towed a twoplace snowmobile with two sleds on it in the winter and it handled that good. I thought they were a good purchase. I also have bilstein on my current pickup they are the 5100 series and they are way better than the factory ones. Bilsteins are proably the only shocks i will by for my pickups in the future unless they change something for the worse.

I had 120,000 miles on my 5100's and decided to replace them. The ones I took off my truck were still as good as new. I replaced them anyway with the same 5100's so I am guessing bilsteins will last a life time :headbang:
