so im just here to vent:temper:, if you dont want to listen to my rantings this is your opportunity to turn back.

so i had a 94 3.0 regular cab. nice enough truck, tough as hell. but i really wanted the extra power of a 4.0 and the space of an extended cab.

so i found a 96 4.0 x-cab. less miles, newer, and could get it under bluebook. i knew the owner and knew he hadnt abused it, so i test drove it, liked it, bought it. that was friday. i suspected clutch issues when i drove it, but figured it would be able to make it for awhile. this is monday, it completely let go today.

so i limped it to the shop. im definately frustrated. can anyone reccomend a clutch thats not $350 but better than the stock replacement?

My friend replaced his clutch with a kit, his slave, and master cylinder for like two hundred from Oreillys.

well the machanic said it wasnt the clutch. he flushed the tranny and that helped matters. still not perfect. he thinks the synchros are going. can anyone tell me if they can just be rebuilt, or if that means the tranny has to be replaced? in other news i got the headache rack and toolbox mounted today.

also has anyone ever replaced the crush bearing in the rearend? any idea what the parts run?

I replaced my clutch with a kit about a year ago for about 250. I got it from VIP auto parts. I just used the old master cylinder. A new one is about 70. Also when you do it, if you do it, save the clutch line because a new one for mine was 90 from ford.

P.S: Good to see someone else from maine on here:icon_thumby:
