lol it was weird as hell, i was walking out of work to my truck and i seen this muddy land rover pull through the parking lot and turn around. i was like whatever and proceeded to put a big ol' dip in and open up my door to get in my truck and leave.

then the windows open up and the guy in the back seat asks me how much i paid for my truck and i was like uhh 2400? he goes that's my old truck lol when i first got the truck, he had his name stenciled into the driver door so i know he wasn't lying either.

it was funny telling him all the things i've done to it to make it ten times more badass :thefinger: but it was still neat meeting the previous owner.

anyone else ever met the old owner of their used truck?

wow thats nice, i tried to contact the prev ownre of mine, but he didnt answer the letter, seems like hes a WWII veteran, so maybe hes to old to read or write, or even worst, maybe he passed out:sad:

I knew the previous owners of both my used trucks. My dad gave me my Ranger when I turned 16, he bought it used from a lot late in 88.

My F-250 (which I then gave to my dad when I got the Ranger back on the road 2 years ago) used to belong to my 5th grade math teacher who was also a good friend of my grandparents. I bought it from his wife about 3 years ago now, a few months after he passed away. It will actually be three years this week since he died. Great man, and he is still greatly missed.

The previous owner of my truck would cry if he saw it now.

Wait, no I got it from a used car lot and before that it was a fleet vehicle. Nevermind.

She's just been used and abused without love until now, she's loved but still abused.

yep, I usually talk to the previous owner of my truck a few times a week. visit him every other weekend.

of course the previous owner of my truck is my Dad... he bought it new in early 1997.

I met the previous owner of my truck. It's my cousin.

the pervious owner of my truck is a nice old guy that bought the truck new in 94. i went to get a bed liner from him and i had my windshield decal on and hes like i really like what you have started to do. we stood there and talked about what my plans were for a little bit and hes like if you ever get it done i would love to see it. so once i get a new bed and painted im going to go show him

The previous owner of my Ranger belong to my church. When I get it done, it will be going back out to their farm and into a shed until my daughter gets it on Christmas.

Didn't you meet him when you bought it? or did you buy it from a dealer?

well, i'm figuring he traded it into a toyota dealership, cause it had "sun toyota" stickers on it. but, i bought it from a used lot who got it in an auction. guess the old ranger wasn't good enough for big, bad yoda :icon_twisted:

the previous owner said he drives a ranger now, too, so i'm guessing he's fairly loyal lol :icon_thumby:

i ran into the original owner of my 2004 chevy a couple weeks after i bought it. there was no real way of checking to see if he was lieing, but he did know what dealership i bought it at. and with the bronco, i bought it off the last owner, so i met him in person, but if i seen him again, id knock him out, he knew what he sold me, and unfortunetly, i fell for it and got me ass ripped off.

I got to meet all the previous owners of my trucks with the exception of the 89 Bronco II Eddie Bauer that I bought, fixed up, and sold (I mighta smacked him over the head).

Come to think of it, the previous owners of my choptop and my F-150 I'd like to smack over the head too...

Be sure to mention all the things the DPO (Dumb Previous Owner, Dreaded Previous Owner) did to the vehicle every chance you get. I'm sure he'd like to hear the war stories.

The PO of my truck bemoans selling it after seeing it lifted. :D

Ouch, sounds like you guys did have DPO's! Mine's been through 3 owners - the first on who I worked with kept a log of all oil changes, fill-ups (even calculated the gas mileage), etc. Second owner was my wife's uncle. He also wrote in the log book "Jerry's Records - Sold to Chris (his son) 5/11/97" - but all did take care of it. 110k miles - no ticking. I'm grateful to my previous owners.
