Just how different is the floor pan?

Everyone makes a floor pan for the 1st gen ranger.

No one makes one for the second gen.

But I was wondering how close a 1st gen will fit?

1st & 2nd gen (I wanna say even 3rd gen up to '97) use almost exactly the same floor. I just did the drivers side in my '92 and only one tiny spot was different which they made that change starting that year (replacement floor pan matches up exactly with my '91). I'm incline to say '92-'97 floor pan is exactly the same with only the one tiny change.

WAIT... This could be a game-changer for me (sorry to jack someone else’s thread, but I’m kind of excited). I have a ’92 Supercab with bad floors. Front quarter patch panels won’t cut it, as the rot extends all the way back under the seats. I’ve spent the last 4-5 days googling, searching, reaching out to body shops, people on eBay, people on multiple forums, you name it. Bupkiss on finding a full- or even half-floor pan. ANYWHERE.

The body style changed so completely for 1993 that I can’t imagine the floors being the same. Have you actually tried a 93-97 floor in a 1983-1992 truck?? Because if that could somehow possibly work in some magical, unicorny way, I might have more options. Thanks.

I am betting they are close enough through 94. The firewall changes happened in 95, and any consequent changes to the floor pan would have happened at the same time.

94-00 seat mounts are the same. As I put a 2000 front seat in my 94. Bolted up just fine. Same goes for the floor seat belts. The mounts for the seat belts on the sides was slightly different.

Theres a cross member that the front of the seat tracks bolt to in the 89+ trucks that will need removed to do a full floor pan. In first gens the seats bolt flat to the floor in the front.

Not sure about some of the details. I once took seats from a 93 to put in my 91. To make the seats work in the 91, I had to remove the tin 'tunnel' mounted across the 93's floor (drilled out spot welds), on which the seat's front mount bolts fastened and weld it into the 91.

Presumably the '93 floorpan (minus hump) was similar to the 91...

I know the cab and floor got wider in 93 compared to the Gen II's, but the bed inner stamping remained the same and the fenders just flared out more. For all I know it was the same deal with the cab...?
