:annoyed: I have a 99 ranger XLT 4.0 4x4...its weird because most rangers i see have 4x4 or offroad wrote on them..my doesnt even though it has 4wd..can someone tell me why?? ALSO CAN I RUN 32-33 inch tires with 3:73s or should i regear to 4:56s???

If i do put 32-33s on will my mileage be worse because of the gear ratio if at all possible first??

31=4:10
33=4:56
35=4:88

Ya, go 4:56. However, I'm going with 4:88's on my 97 Ranger with 33's just in case I go with 35's at a later date.

Alot of people don't like the look of the stickers and take them off. Sometimes they don't always come with the stickers either, I am not sure if they are optional or not.

i just put 32s on my 97 4.0L, 3.73 and i was quite surprised that it didnt feel doggy at all. from my personal experiance, 3.73s would be fine for you.

I'm running 31's on my 99 with 3:73's and its fine I even tow with it!!!

awsome

thanks for the replies..John your truck is really cool...I wish i woulda waited and got the ranger i really wanted..I have a singlecab stepside...I wish i had more room..Its ok though....John did you lift yours any?? Also Ive read some guys put 32s on there trucks is that stock or cranking the t-bars or a body lift or something??

Thanks Jon,
When I built this truck (it was a 2wd) it had 265's on the donor 4x4. I just installed the 31's without cranking or lifting...no rubs

on my 97 i dont have any torsion bars to crank. i just put the 32s on there and they fit. it is very close though so there may be some very slight rubbing on another truck that is otherwise identical.
