when you check the iac valve you leave the engine running when you unplug it? rite? and if it needs to be changed i need to know exactly step by step how to change it

and when you check the cam position sensor should i unplug the battery and unplug the sensor

The IAC is one of the easiest things to change, it takes about 10 minutes, but you can also clean it first see it fixes whatever problem your having. Im not sure if you know but it sits on top of the throttle body and is held down by two bolts. Unplug it from its harness and undo the bolts it will come right off, clean the old gasket off and replace it in reverse. If you decide to clean it use some brakekleen and spray it down but don't spray near the end with the little motor in it clean it out good and put it back on.

+1. They're 10mm bolts BTW. And yes, the engine is left running to check the IAC.

thanks guys i no where its at i just dont wanna mess nothin up i have some maf cleaner that i used to clean my maf will that work

It will work but brakekleen would be ideal, it breaks down carbon better and just like maf sensor cleaner it doesn't leave a residue. I let mine sit for awhile and blew it out with an air compressor, its shiny now. Aside from stripping out the bolts or tightening them down to much and cracking the TB housing theres not much you can do to mess it up, like I said its one of the easiest jobs aside from checking your fluids:)
