yea the chev gets about 15mpg hwy tops and its a diesel. I know someone else who has an 04 and gets 20+ mpg but his is on stock rims and isnt lifted. My roomates cousin who owns the truck moved to san francisco, so he knew he wouldnt be able to park it so thats why hes having my roomate sell it up here, since theres a little bit more of a market for lifted 4wd trucks up here, despite high gas prices.

another small update .... sold the acura integra that this truck is replacing today ... so to celebrate i got some oem mazda mats for it ... ill take some pics when i get em

Very clean truck. It makes me miss mine sooo much. It's just sitting in front of the house collecting dust until I have the money for the v8 swap (slung a rod in the stock 4 cyl engine)

haha thats coo ... i met this other cat at the dunes a couple weekends ago that had a 96 xcab ranger with the 4.0 automatic and it was pretty sweet, all custom done up suspension that was probably worth more than the truck itsself ... at that point i still wasnt sure that id be endin up with a ranger or i woulda taken some good pics

ya unfortunetly I don't have any sand out here. the long travel suspension is down the road for me. And it will probably turn out the same way. estimating between $10k-15k for what I plan on building suspension wise. and I paid $1600 for the truck hahaha. I just love to drive fast on dirt roads and jump the truck. I'm out of the mudding scene now. I actually might go race some rally racing here on the east coast with it, which would be pretty cool. I want my fun play toy which this will be it. Everyone else here has their big 4wds and I want this more than anything else. Everyone wants me to sell it and buy a 4wd and think my ideas are dumb but we'll see what they say with the finished project hehe

heres a vid of the ranger i was talking about, you can kinda see the top of the suspension in the bed ... dont worry about the first part it was just cool to see this explorer that had rolled drive away no problems cept for the spiderwebbed windsheild and slightly caved in roof.
