Hi folks, I just bought my Dad's 2000 Ford Ranger, mainly as a "farm" truck for runs to the feed store, picking up hay, moving big stuff, etc. We currrently have 3 acres, 2 horses and we've just started raising Alpacas and have 6 of them, as well as some chickens and turkeys on the go.
It is our 3rd vehicle so it will also be a backup if one of the others is being repaired. We also own a 2004 Mazda 6 and a 2005 Jeep Liberty.
My Dad had it for 5 years, and it's been reliable for him so I'm looking forward to getting a few more years at least out of it!
It is automatic, 4.0L V6, long bed. From a little research it seems to be the XLT model but I'm not too sure about that yet.
Obviously the rims and exhaust are not stock. One of the two exhaust pipes is currently broken off at the 'Y' so it needs repair, I will probably go back to a single pipe front to back.
I also want to replace the tires, and maybe the rims depending on if they will work, as these tires will not be much use in the winter, as well as limited off-road use around the farm. Thinking about MT's and a street-friendly locker.
I know some of the Rangers came with a step-bumper with the ability to attach a hitch ball, I'm disappointed I don't have that so I can use it with the utility trailer right away, but will be adding a hitch in the near future hopefully.
That's about all I can think of for now, I will be doing much research in the near future to figure out exactly what I have here and what I can do with it!
If anyone has any questions or comments feel free to fire away!
