Looking for good conversations and "wisdom"

I am going to be building a moderate off-road toy. Looking into regular cab rangers. Have been finding a lot of 98-2006ish rangers for sale with the 3L V6. Also need auto trans(physical limitations) Not familiar with rangers or what to look for. Definitely want 33-35" tires at the end of the build. Most likely flatbed in it's future. All help with links for info on this website would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the site. When you say moderate, what types of terrain are you planning on exploring? Will it drive to the sites or be trailered?

Just remember the newer the vehicle the harder the first dent/scratch will hurt.

To start it will drive to site. Definitely mud. Probably some light crawling. Definitely trails. Not worried about scratches or dents. They are expected.
