Hello fellow ranger fanatics!
Name is Mat, new to the forums here. Been lurkin for a while dreaming of having a ranger again. I have an opportunity. My father in law has two near identical 1991 rangers. difference being, one ranger is push button transfer case. From research, I have found engines, trannys, and axles to be the same. He is asking $2500 for both. one engine has close to 500,000 km and is need of a rebuild, but truck has nice lift, new rims/33" tires and body, interior, chassis are near perfect. The other has just over 250,000 but the truck itself is kinda bland. In my garage I have access to engine hoist, and all tools to swap an engine. My last two question's will be, How hard would the swap be? And, is there anything I should be looking for while doing it? such as problem areas that should be addressed while the engine is out.
