Just another dana 30 sas...

I'm thinking that RuffStuff went up on their prices just a little. 3ft of 2"x1.5"x.250" is now $41.00 for the lower arm. The upper arm is now $15.10 for 18in of 1.5"x.250".

Dont forget about the 10% off discount being a TRS member. If your a facebook member it may be 15% but not sure.

With everything coming from RuffStuff, it'll be $112.20 for just the DOM tubing. And the 1.5" rods ends from them are $100 a pair for the lower arms. And $55 for the adjustable upper arms. Depending on if I use two rod ends for the lower arms and two for the upper, that puts the price around $262.20 total for the materials. Throw in about about $20-30 more for the plate steel for the brackets. So we're looking at around $300 not including any discounts that may or may not be applied. That still is a lot less than paying $470-$500 for some company made long arms kits.

On a slightly different but similar question. Anybody know what the caster angle is supposed to be once I get the dana 30 under my truck?

Anywhere from 5-7 degrees caster angle. Having adjustable arms makes it easier adjust for that and everything else.

Mine came with Johnny Joints at the point where it hooks to the frame. Where it hooks to the bottom axle points and where they hook midpoint on the longest arm are bushings (all are greaseable) and the top axle mounts are what is in the picture that was drawn.

Thanks for the info. Now if I could only find 2" DOM locally. I'd be all set.

I'd do Johnny joints personally however, if you wanna do heims-- ruffstuff has theirs like 30% off or something like that. Idk I saw it on their Facebook. Check it out

quoted from their FB page

"Hmm hiem sets are 20% off right now! & If you use your 10% FACEBOOK code you get another 10% off! Visit the link below!"

that being said, i still support the use of johnny joints.. but... its an option

I know everybody has a facebook page. I've got one too. I was just a little surprised that RuffStuff had one as well. You learn something new every day.

DOM is so hard to find locally. i think there is one place in memphis that carries it. i mean its Memphis, we have everything. we have like 20 steel shops and several other places that sale metal. yet only 1 that sales DOM, and they don't carry anything larger than 1.5 OD i think

Ya think that since I live so close to Atco and Englishtown there would be a steel supplier that carries DOM tubing. There are a lot of chassis fabricators around here but no steel suppliers? I can't believe that.

find out who the chassis fab's use, or see if they will just sale you some.. you only need what? 9-10 feet?
