Just another dana 30 sas...

Problem with making you're own-- DOM is expensive! Johnny joints are expensive! All that junk adds up. I looked at that idea to. You can get Rusty's long arms for like $470 or so.

I can build long arms for a hell of a lot less than $470.

2"X.250 DOM is around $10/foot here so most of the expense is in the joints/rod ends. I would agree that long arms can be made much cheaper than $470 with the right tools., even if you used thicker material for the links.

Thanks crawlin for giving me hope that it can be done on the cheap. Or at least cheaper than $500.

Check out the joints on partsmike.com I've heard nothing but good on them. I'll get you a link later. IMO get the ones I'm talking about or the currie ones.

why not use actually joints on the long arms??
here was my design i was gonna custom make

and here are the joints i'm speaking of

$50 comes w/ insert and jam nut.

here's the bushing for the axle side of the lower

use a bushing for less vibes and better ride (if a DD, if not-- use another parts mike joint there)

I saw some prices on your drawing. Did you ever sit down and figure out how much these would have cost?

i did... but i don't remember lol.. it might be in my build thread... idk.

i was going by Rusty's length. this it was 30 or 36 inches on the lowers and 18 on the uppers?? maybe... i don't remember. it may be in my build thread. or go look at ruffstuff DOM prices, and see what piece is that price

I have to head out soon, but I'll check RuffStuff when I get home tonight. Thanks.
