Either you are single or your wife did not know about this! Either way it is a good way to clean them up if not terrible greasy.

Yep - been there, done that. Cooked a set of exhaust manifolds in the oven after painting. Eastwood said to run motor till paint cured. I figured 450 deg for three hours was good.

When I saw the title I thought it was going to be a convert your dishwasher into a snowthrower by handing her a shovel thread but I now realise it's just another way of ending up in the dog-house, I don't need any help in that area.

I have a portable dishwasher that also cleans the bathroom, does laundry, and keeps the rest of the house clean. She even changes her own oil.

I used steel wool to rough up everything but was wondering how every nook and cranny would have dirt in it and how to get it out. They were black and also had grease on the itty bitty balls the tracks ride on.....came out spotless! Used a heat gun to make sure they were dry. Hit them with several coats of gray mag wheel paint.

No wife, no worries:derisive:

...on the other hand no wife= no...:hottubfun:

Haaa, I never have done this but years ago I had friends who have done it. It works to clean up a lot of crap on parts. I have not thought about that until I saw your post...lol

now i know what to do with old dishwashers people are throwing away, 2 gardenhoses and an extention cord and you now have a dishwasher in your back yard! no chances of cross contamination this way...
