Just an idea that may have been brought up before

Ok I'm not sure if this has been discussed here but I didn't see anything. I was looking through the parts for sale forum like I usually do and time after time I see, "would buy but shipping would kill me" or "too far away" or things along those lines. So I thought that maybe a sub forum in the parts for sale forum where members could post something like, "I'm going from A to B on Day XXX" That way say someone was going to Calgary (I'm Canadian so I'll use Canadian examples lol) from Saskatoon and I was selling something to someone in Calgary I could meet up with them and they could drop it off to the buyer. That was people could get things without shipping killing them. I figure since this is a ranger forum everyone would have a truck bed. The only problem I can see is possible thefts... just an idea think its a good one?

i had thought of this too but you would really have to trust who your dealing with.

Yeah no kidding...you'd need some sort of system to prove the middle man is legit...I was thinking that say i sell a tranny to XXX in Calgary for 300, and Billy (lets say) is going to Calgary, I meet up with Billy in Saskatoon...he would give me three hundred then get his three hundred back when he delivers it. Maybe a way to make the system more legit?

We do it lots on more local sites but TRS is a much larger site and people are usually spread farther apart then necessary to make it work reliably all the time.

Yeah thats true, I can see it working better on local sites.

I've participated in these several times. I've known the parties involved though. It would be great to have that kind of trust in place.

Will helped me bring a Ranger from Iowa to Ohio. He brought it and unloaded it, and then I hauled it the rest of the way. I really need to finish paying him back for his fuel!
