hey guys I have a question I'm planning on changing my dana 28 for the 35 my question is what year dana35 should I put in I read the forums I can't find what I'm looking for and what vehicle should I get it from does anyone have any preference or does it not matter thanks

I don't have time to link to it for you right now. But go to the tech articles and read the articles about the Dana 28 & 35. My recommendation would be to avoid the hybrids. Other than that, i would think that swapping a 35ttb in place of a 28ttb should be pretty straight-forward. I'm not sure about the drive shaft u-joint. But that probably swaps also.

Simple way to answer 91-94. They are all the same (Ranger& Explorer). They bolt in, in place of the 28. You will need to shorten your front driveshaft.

I used a d35 from a 94 explorer under a 85 ranger

If you can find a 95-97 they have the better brakes, but those are the years you have to be careful about the hybrid units.

Sorry it took a while but thanks u guys answered my question
