I haven't bought much bigger stuff at junk yards yet. I am in the process of planning my build and want some advice on how to stretch a buck and make sure that I don't get ripped off at the junkyard.
First, what are some ball park prices on drive line components? These are all RBV components. (Except for the d44 stuff)
8.8 explorer axles (whole)
Axle shafts
Waggy D44
Flat top D44 knuckles,
Leaf spring packs,
Steering boxes,
Steering shafts,
Steering columns,
PS pumps,
Transfer cases,
M5OD transmissions (I would guess 200ish)
Radiators,
What other items that people have bought and what they paid for them?
Negotiation techniques and things to keep in mind when dealing.
Obviously when trying to argue a price down you need to make sure that the unknown history and the possibility of needing a rebuild are factored into the price.
