Junkyard finds

I am Ford's equivalent to an animal activist. I want to save every damn one of them when I go to the junk yard.

We have a yard here called Tear-A-Part with asphalt under the vehicles. It's a really nice yard. Our Pick-N-Pull is gravel as well.

EDIT: It's not a great pic, but here's their pic of the lot off their site:

comet man sucks to hear you. I saw one in there, those are rare! My dad wrecked a 66 comet 20 years ago, on the top an crawled out, we know where it is parked today, still wrecked, and we still have one in our barn that my uncle bought 17 years ago. Wont let me upload pics to show you all.

what do you mean by on the top?

I'm saying this to help you out here... please download a browser with spell check. I really like my Firefox 5... Give it a try for us all? the spell check is very easy to use, and it even does it as you type... I never used to be all that good at spelling, especially while typing on the internet, i got in the habit of saying "ur" and using numbers "4" words but when it underlines the word, you have a choice, you can either backspace and try again (which is how i learned) or take the easy way by right clicking and picking the proper word...

dude i wouldve if i was you pulld it out an fixed it an run the piss out of it, thats why i am keeping mine. i like my ford

i hear you on that one!

the '77 of moms was a factory 302-2V. mom loved it. i think it was traded in '84 for a '81 escort ss. i was never old enough to drive it. would have been a real fun car, even if it was a 3 speed auto.

Jammer, your thread, do you mind us hijacking it for classic car talk?

i used to have a 71 torino 4 door hard top in dark green metallic... 68,000 original miles, and the middle seatbelt in the back still had the elastic on it, keeping it bundled up, from the factory... the previous owner said he took the other 2 elastics off the back seatbelts about a year prior to me buying it, for his 2 kids... this was back in about 04-05

what do you mean? at my high point, i had a mustang, an f-150, an f-250, my motorcycle, and a 1936 ford model 68 fordor sedan

now i'm down to the mustang, motorcycle, 36, and my ranger

(not mine) mine is identical to it though... other than mine being dark green, it's mine, my brothers and maybe share it with my other 3 siblings... though i suppose it's still technically my dad's right now... but he lives about 800 miles away, and it's only about 10 miles away from me right now... maybe less

the 68 was my great grandfather's car, he bought it in 1936, and it's been in the family ever since... my father learned to drive in it, and now it needs some restoration work... my dad wants to rat rod it, but i think it's much too nice of a car to intentionally make rust... it's all original, except the motor and one front fender (there is a few parts missing though)

That's sweeeeeet - no to the rat-rod. Why is every car with the suicide doors cool?

because suicide doors are awesome?

i wanted to suicide the rear doors on the torino, but i sold it too early... i kinda wish that i had kept it, because it's totally my style now... back when i had it, it was too low and too slow for me... i wanted my mustang back...

if i had that torino now, it would be a toss up if i would mod it out, or keep it all original, but if i were to mod it out, i would drop it, put some nice rims on it, maybe 17's with low(er) profile tires, and suicide the rear doors... kinda a look like the car at the beginning of this video... (probably no hydros though)

i abosoluotly hate you guys that dont live in the rust belt. anything 1999 or older is pretty much rusted out and useless in mn.

I feel you. I've lived in northern PA for 5 winters now. My truck has gone from a few little surface spots here and there to bubbles and rotted fenders.

I have seen PA trucks and been around the salt (they use too much salt). The one thing I never seen is a 70's Chevy from PA. Not even in a junkyard.

We do use too much salt. I'm usually out moving before the salt trucks in the mornings, and I have more trouble moving after they go through.

I did find a 50's Chevy in the yard once. I think it's been there a while.
