I was out with a buddy this weekend looking for full size Bronco stuff did not even have any intention of looking for my list of parts.

Saw a 86 ranger across the yard and figure what the heck, let see what its got for gears. Had 3.73 which I do not need, but it had some manual hubs. After looking at them a little more I realized they were Warn hubs! Ran up front and asked a price and about dropped when the guy told me $60 bucks! Ran back to the truck and pulled them off before someone else saw them!

When I got home just for kicks I looked up how much they are going for on Amazon, $212! Needless to say I am stoked!!

You remembered to grab all the hardware too, right?

Either way, awesome score man.

Yea sadly drivers side hardware was gone but the hub was still there, it was odd. But when I took off the passenger side hub it was a mix of auto and manual hub hardware. So currently in search of the hardware on the wanted thread. Amazon has them for like $50 but figured I would check here first and try to save some coin.

60 bux for used lockouts? and no hardware?

not...a good score.

Had a few sets for a dana 28 a few years back, for sale with hardware... I couldnt even give them away, even though i had disassembled, cleaned, and regreased them...

My local yards get $10/pair and don't care if you have the hardware sitting in them or not.

I have 1 set of hardware and 2.5 sets of hubs for a D35... $35 :icon_twisted:

That said I about cried last year when after looking to replace my OEM pink hubs with warns and like 2 weeks after I got a D35 I finally found a pair.

I have two spare sets I got from my local yard for free. Every time I find a set he just gives them to be if I am buying something else.

If its just spindle nuts your needing, just go to your local auto parts store and buy the 2 nuts and lock ring for a Dana 44. they are the same thing. last time I bought a set I only paid like 20.00 for the set (2 nuts and lock ring). I dont know why they have such a mark up when listed as Dana 35. I have these on my Explorer and Ranger both. Never had any issues.

dana 28??

my dana 28 stuff was smaller threads. thats what ssuked even more about them.

83-84-85-86-87-88-89-90-91-92 that i have owned or worked on had smaller thread size on the nut. you have one with the bigger thread? the later hybrid had the bigger nut one on style and smaller on the early to muddy up shit more.

so, certainly i strongly suggest upgrading to the dana 35. easier to get crap for...jeffs bronco grave yard has some things. not much.

so really i guess i suggest a ttb 44. you can really get crazy with those. not that your looking to get crazy...

if ya keep sniffing around though you will come up with the spindle nuts cheap for the 28.

i know there were people milling the auto nuts to work with the d28 lockouts years ago and the d35 style as well. the key style lock is actually pretty good. it was nothing serious but i dont recall the specifics. not sure how exactly it was done, but it was done. probably the conglomeration you had to begin with was a product of such attempt.

some of these pic are from my parts collectionss...i forgot about it till i seen them. there are spindle dimensions in there somewhere...

Sorry, I was talking about the D35. As far as I know only the 28 stuff fits the 28 (not to say there isnt something out there)....
