Jumping in with the guys!

Lovely. MurderBear resides where?
TRS mostly. Though there have been reports of sightings on various Sierra, Minker, Capri, and Granada forums, as well as grassroots motorsports. 🤷🏿‍♂️

For a short period of time he was an unwilling resident of my basement.

Windshield will fog like hell in a gen 1-2 due to shitty design. Gen two has a really nice carpet pad over plastic on some trim levels that hides leaks.

Harder to see than you think. Same firewall 83-92, so hides like mine did. Took me a week to figure out and I didn't say anything on here because I was worried about a head.

I'm with bobbyD, I don't think it's heater core. Why's it pissing occasionally?

Heater cores on first gen was OK ish design. Not grounded, so that's a win.

Yes, with electrolytes in coolant, it will oxidize your heater core if it's grounded. Sort of. Electrolysis does spooky stuff. My electro tank is evidence. But it mauls your shit. Replacing hers could be preventative maintenance only.

Before spending money, have advance or Napazone or Irish mcpartstore pressure test your cooling system. Get the results for us. We will decipher the runes...

Temperature affects results. Block may leak only when cold or only when hot.

Better to save the cash if it's gonna be something big.

Trains are absolutely real. Railroads are not.

I haven't read the other 5 pages so it may have been asked and answered already but have you tried to just watch it while it is running to see if you can see where the leak is coming from? I had a pinhole in a brass fitting that would only leak when it got up to temp but would stop leaking when the t-stat opened. Only saw it when I sat there with a flashlight for 10 minutes and it finally sprayed out the pin hole. Other idea would be to check the reservoir for leaks. Maybe you have a small crack in the side just above the water level and it only leaks when it splashes from taking turns or something....

Any smoke from the exhaust when running?

Do you hear bubbling in the reservoir when you shut the engine off after it has been running a while?

Sorry if these have been asked or answered but its hard to sift through 5 pages of people talking about 90% nonsense and 10% actual info.
