Starting my second build, with a 1987 Ford Ranger.

Specifications:
2.9L Cologne V6
A4LD Transmission
Cooper Discoverer AST 31x10.50R15LT
3 Inch Body Lift

First things first... Had a bad radiator so I replaced that. Not even a month in and the transmission went. Just ordered a new A4LD and it should be here by Thursday. There is a tap, most likely a valve that has to be fixed and then comes the lift. She's getting a 6" highjacker suspension lift in addition to the 3" body lift already in place. I'm going up to 36" Mickey thompson's on 15" racing rims. A snorkel will be installed soon and also an ORI Baja Eliminator Light bar equipped with dual Hella Lighting: 700FF Series Driving Lights. There will be a Rhino Bed Bar installed after everything else with 4 KC Daylighters to finish her off. Most likely a few more skid plates underneath and possibly a winch... We shall see as things progress. Check out my profile for pictures and I will post regular updates through this thread.

Any tips or hints for any of these projects are welcomed. See you guys later >_<

Not bad at all! Cool to see another one from Jersey on here with a 1st gen!

My Rad is leaking too...so that's also on my list. Where did you get the trans from? was it local? I'm just looking for the day I need one quick.

Lookin forward to the rest of your build :icon_thumby:

Put a D35 front end under her when you go put the lift, stronger and bolts right in other then shortening the front driveshaft 1-1.5 inches. Just be sure to get one that has the same gears as the rear, if you plan to put a D35 under her. Get one from an explder so that you dont get a hybrid setup on accident.

Glad to see another Gen 1 being fixed and saved.

i just hope your not using factory gears with the new tires, A4LDs aint known for there durability/reliability, +1 on the dana35 tho, dana28=broke stuff with 36's

Either way, plan on regearing to a minimum of 4.88's with that 2.9L and 36's. That combination is HORRIBLE..
