Josh40601's Build Thread. (D-ranged)

Love the JB fab shifters. I visited his shop (20 minutes from me) and it was a good clean operation. He's a super nice guy and he sold me on buying his shifter setup. I just can't decide if I want a twin stick 205 lol.

BTW the Ranger looks good!

Trans linkage connected, front hubs stripped down, cleaned and painted. I'll get it the front axle put back together the it's suspension and a tune up. Goal is to back it out tomorrow night

Last two days were all about rebuilding the hubs brakes and bearings. After cleaning or replacing everything, the axle shafts won't go into the lockouts.

I'll deal with it after paint. Coilovers off, springs going on tomorrow, tune up, and off to the body shop

What's the difference? Still 2" blocks and they both fit on the spring perches?

What do you want to see pictures of?

After all this hell I've been through with this ****er, I wish I would have done something with more power.

theres 3 in wide and 2.5+ blocks...i went thru a bunch of stuff as i want to redo my rear springs and will need different blocks. some are tapered etc....

i just cant find them. i have a steel bucket full somewhere.

John Barnett had a set from his truck he is sending to me. I also bought a rear add a leaf kit too. I also still have my original overload springs I may add to get the rear up as well

Topper off. Battery cables ran to the bed. brakes plumbed. tune up complete. Shocks back together.

Plan for today is get my adjustable proportioning valve installed, and Rebuild the rear brakes (sticking with drums right now, way cheaper than swapping to disks). Hopefully my parts to get the rear end up will arrive today or tomorrow before I get home so I can get the rear end wrapped up. Need to get it up in the air to finish drilling the drain holes in the skid plate.

Getting closer to taking this thing around the block!

Parts didn't come in. So I put the shocks back together and finished up the engine bay.

Definitely has that lean that I'm not keen on. It does have about 300lbs of shit in the bed but it's still wayyyyy too low in the back.

This is level. I'm hoping it settles as id like it about an inch or 2 lower, but I'll be ok with this as long as it rides and drives well.

yeah....mine is sitting low out back....but i have been too lazy to re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re fix the springs.

:D

i think i will outboard the shocks out back as well. thought about some 5100's. see how yours turns out.

Kind of late, but you have returnless. My internet is has disappeared except on my phone, and I've been stupid busy with the house and projects, haven't been on in a few days. Good to see you got it going...

I'd love to have some 5100s. They are an excellent shock. Every set I've sold the owner loves them. I'm actually going to try very hard to get on at bilstein when I move back to so cal.

Still got that bro lean, but close enough. I'll likely just use a shorter spring up front and call it a day.

Been working on my buddies 97 that we did an 06 conversion on and trying to get his bumper lined up. He went with the same bumper D had.

Parts for the rear brakes came in today. Got the tears finished up, and the blocks in this weekend. Then I worked on find a place to mount my new prop valve, and this is where I chose to go

It's almost directly above the frame, and inside the tube to protect it from the tire, and doesn't interfere with the pedals inside the cab. I'll likely skin the inner fenders with some type of protector but not quite sure yet with what material or how I am going to do it.

Nope, bought a house and moved the shop north. I'm in sebree, ky. 20 minutes north of John (Madisonville), 30 minutes south of Henderson, 45 minutes south of Evansville. Close to the intersection of the WK and pennyrile parkway...
