Josh40601's Build Thread. (D-ranged)

but you like the LQ4?

but you like the LQ4?

i have nothing bad to say about it.. sure its a chevy but... i don't care. it pushes out some power and torque. will be a sweet setup..

i'm pretty brand loyal to ford, yes--- but a 6.0 with that set up is gonna be awesome. no doubt. i don't have anything against chevy motors except the pos 4.3 that's in my gf's s10.

i will agree with you on that. I HATE the 4.3

That has to be one the hardest vehicle in the word to work on, Chevy S10/Blazer from 94-03

The 4.3 is pretty bad, except for the syclone. :D

a guy here has a yota with a carb'd 4.3 in it. the runs like crap. can't figure out why

Josh, as far as the steering goes, try and grab a flat pitman arm from a TTB F150 and you should be able to get your draglink/trackbar angles damn near the same.

hers is a 98 i think... i'm trying to figure out if they have fire on the insurance policy :icon_confused::icon_rofl:
j/k, i wouldn't do that. we are trying to find her a sport trac tho :icon_thumby:

I thought about going with a flat one or the Ranger 2wd one. I think it is only 1" drop, and this one is either 2 or 2.5

It doesn't have bump steer, and it handles pretty damn good for a truck with blown out ball joints

Edit:

There really is no need to change it though, as I have to go with the Yota box this winter anyway and it doesn't really bother me driving

That is a bad ass truck. Just like the Grand National and the Typhoon.

Not too familiar with their engine bays though, so i couldn't tell ya how much of a PIA they are.

I used to have a 2wd 97 S10 with a 4.3/4l60e and i hated working on it. That truck was the reason i went with a Ranger.

hey Josh....I remembered awhile back that you wanted to change your spring rates....

what were you considering changein' to???

I want one so bad. Actually I would like one of the marlboro ones - even if it was just a clone. same motor, red paint, and to top it all off a T-top. that would be so sweet.

which actually gives me an idea for the ranger...

The pearl white one is my favorite.

Why?

Id assume an FJ60 box. Stout and easily tapped for hydro. Ive rebuilt about 3 of these boxes so far, and they are pretty beefy. Pretty common with guys who dont have a factory box, and want to run hydro steering.
