Whenever i let off the gas to slowdown the rear end jerks any ideas? 4x4 5spd 2.9 i dont know which rear end bcuz the guy that had it before me replaced it with one that has no markings and no abs sensor (thanks for the constant rab light on lol) Thanks for the input guys

a locker in the rear axle could cause that. no other noises or symptoms that might suggest u-joints, axle bearings, wheel bearings, brake sticking, etc.? hope he got an axle with the same gears as the front.
hope you get it figured out and post back to let us know what it was. good luck.

Jack up the rear axle, stick the transmission in gear or Park (parking brake off) and see if you can turn either wheel by hand. If it's a locker, you'll feel it engage (lock) and you won't be able to turn it.

With a normal diff, if you turn one wheel (trans in gear or Park), the opposite side wheel should rotate in the opposite direction.
