I just rode in one today. WOW. I love that little diesel. It has so much torque. I wanted to steal the Engine and put it into my ranger. That would be sick. Well that was all. Just wanted other peoples options.

My sister has a Liberty CRD, it's a pretty nice rig. There is another one for sale locally, I'd consider it if I wanted an SUV, but I need a truck.

Actually it's an Italian thingy, VM Motori. IIRC, Cummins did own a signifigant chunk of them, and then they got sold I think... have no idea to who.

The way I understood it was that the liberty got the isuzu scourced motor and the grand cherokee got the mercedes motor. It also explained why the larger grand got much better mileage than the liberty.
