I'm back to working on my '86 BII w/ 5spd and 2.9L. I just put the rebuilt 2.9L in and was installing the driver’s side header. I'm finding that the header flange to collector pipe is tight with the fuel filter mounting shroud. Has anyone else had this problem? I bent the mounting should out of the way a little, but it does seem to be real close. Has anyone ever relocated the fuel filter before? Also the fuel lines seem to run real close to the headers and steering column. I may have them routed wrong. Anyone have a good picture of how they should run?
Thanks for any help.:derisive:

My pacesetters are a really tight fit, it's tricky to replace the fuel filter. Mine's only slip fit, I could see how that would be a problem. It's possible that you might have to drop the header each time you want to replace the fuel filter. I just barely get it out. I've had my headers for 3 years. If you're thinking about relocating it, now would be the time to look into it. I see if you can't get it out first, though.

Thanks; I got the pass side in now and it is tight also (about 1/8" to frame). I'm still looking at relocating the fuel filter.
Thanks
