Jan 17th Turkey Bay

I was joking........ My 97 is getting pretty tired, but I think she'll hang around a little while longer in stock form (she has for 235k miles)

It's a nice bronco, but for what I paid....... I plan on having some fun.

:icon_rofl:Yeah, lets get to :icon_welder: on that thing!! Hey Frank, we need pics man:icon_thumby:

That's it for now.
the interior is Red........ pretty good shape.

Thats a pretty good lookin wheelin rig....first thing I'd put on there is some sliders!! And weld both axles!!
SVT

Yeah, I don't have any metal to make some sliders, but maybe we can get together one day and do it.

For the price of a mini- I may as well just do that and not trust my suck-welding.

It needs "real" tires pretty bad but these streeters are in good shape, I think the gearing is ok until i upgrade axles.

4.0 will need to be done....... one day, I don't really trust the 2.9. but all the electrical is good, and it has a pretty sweet radio and system.

I need to start looking at lift options, I want it to be just like allens..... but a half in taller lift, with 1 inch taller tires.

Frank

a 6" lift with some 33's would be all that thing needs...You should be able to locate a lift for that thing pretty cheap, and I think John can get the tires for around $400 mounted...Need to find a 91-92 explorer (sport) donor for the motor trans and axles
SVT

I want to stick with a manual trans.......

I'm forming a budget to do any-work with, I mean...... I'm not made of money.

I'll wait to lift to get some tires that will fit.

6in suspension all at once, or 3 body 3 susp? do you have to do a BL to fit the 4.0?

I'd say in the next couple weeks though, I should have the money to get started on rounding up parts, then a little later we can have a G2G and bar-b-q. With the Johns, maybe get allen up here, and wheel a weekend.

Frank

BTW, this thing has some suck-wheels, they're like 4 inches wide.

Yeah some explorer sports were manual trans...I knew you wanted to keep your manual trans, plus the manual trans in the sports are stronger anyways, Allen has a 3" BL, 4" suspension...BL is not needed for 4.0L conversion, but definitely gives you more room...I'd go straight for the 6" if it was me, John and I are goin to Jon's (slo vo) this sat and probably go jy hopping, Jon knows a jy up his way thats got axles cheap, like $60 cheap, so we're gonna go see what they got, do some window shopping for now

Thanks, I'd appreciate it....... I think I'll run it a little while stock for now, I did pay for an engine, trans, axles, and t-case that all work, lol. I will play a while and get a feel for driving it (ive never driven a bronco before today) and then when I upgrade, I'll really feel the difference.

Maybe we can find a 2 in. body lift cheap to give a lil extra room, and a tad of clearence then do 6in suspension later, and fender cut-outs. gotta get it capable, not just sexified.

frank

If you come across a Sport with a 5spd....... I may ought to go ahead and swing for the trans, that would be the toughy to find.

did ya'll see this? just throwing it out there. http://therangerstation.com/forums/showthread.php?t=70634

if it were me....id say 4 inch lift and a 2 inch body lift...cut the fenders and bumpstop for 35's to clear...

if you start getting into 8-9 inches of lift in a bronco 2 your gunna end up more on its side then straight up....low COG is what you want
