what do you guys think about the company? their parts? etc...
i have an 89 ranger 4x4 supercab could i fit 35/12.5/15 on 5.5in lift? would there be trimming involved?

Do a quick search and you will find that they have a pretty good reputation for quality parts. What do you want to know about the company?

You can run 35s with some trimming. I had those on my explorer. I'd be more worried about that Dana 28 than anything. You will need at least 4.88 gears to turn those tires.

I personally have never used their products but from what I hear they are one of the best companies for ttb rangers. Along with skyjacker. 35's might be alloy lke big for that size lift, but I can almost clear 33's with my 4" lift. I say get 35's and trim till they fit. But remember that using that big of a tire you're gonna want to regear.and a d35/8.8 combo is what people recommend some you're not torching hubs and u joints faster than you can put them in. Hope this helps.:icon_thumby:

Dang beat me to it. Didn't notice till I posted lol.

They will fit. Might have to shorten the front driveshaft cuz the 35 is a little longer. If you get an 8.8 from an explorer you will have to weld leaf spring mounts on top of the axle.

What he said^^^

To fit 35's on my 84 I have a 4" suspension and 2" BL. I still trimmed the rear fenders and run GlassWork fronts..

I still catch the rears sometimes when I flex it out real bad.

James Duff is a great place for early BII's and Rangers!!! A++++. Great bumpers as well. I have friends who still buy stuff every once in awhile from Duff. I bought stuff years back and never had any issues with Duff components on my BII and my early Rangers.

James Duff is a good company, I've been satisfied with their stuff.

35" tires will require a proper gear ratio, say of like 4.88, but it depends too on what you're using it for and what motor you're running.

I have a customized 5" suspension lift and a 2" body lift. Currently on 33's but I'm going to 35's once I get my front axle swap done (going to a D-35 because the 33's on a D-28 were snapping axles with frightening regularity). I might have to do some fender trimming/reworking but we'll see how that ends up.

It is possible to not have to shorten a front driveshaft with a D-35 swap, but it depends on what transmission your truck has in it. If you have an FM-146 or A4LD, IIRC the front shaft out of a Ranger with an FM-145 will fit with the D-35.

Check out Wizkid's build thread if you want to see the quality of duff products.

Ive met THATGUY and he knows his stuff, you can take his word as gold. I also had a chance to meet the people at DUFF, owners and all. Saw how stuff was made and put together, and I was very impressed. Alot of time and care goes into their stuff. Definitely worth the money.

So i have a 89 ranger ext cab 2.9 4x4 automatic I also have a 90 bronco 2 2.9 4x4 5 speed I want to put the 5 speed in my ranger. will the truck run and drive if I don't swap the harness and computer with the tranny?
