I am wondering what might would be better JD coils buckets or F250 shock mounts
I love the clean look that JD coils buckets give.
I am just not happy with the shocks i have now, so i am trying to play my next move before i buy new shocks.

Shock mounts are @ $30. Coil buckets are gonna be closer to $300.

What are you trying to accomplish? Longer shock? Better shock?

I am looking for better shocks and i dont like the stud style top mount

The JD stuff is very well built and you will get what you paid for. I have the full stage 3 5.5 lift on my 97 and could not be happier then what I got for the money I spent.

Thy look well built and it looks to me that the coil sit better than the stock one,
I am hoping it might give a better ride.
but then again it all might be a waste for 2" of lift.

the jd buckets have shock mounts that are about 2.5 inches longer one the top which won't help much for shock length unless they are used in conjunction with the jd rad arms which have the shock mounts moved to the very bottom of the arm. With the arms you can run a pretty long shock (im guessing about 5" longer oal but id call them for an exact measure) but even without the arms you'll eliminate the stud type shock

idk if this thread is still alive but i measured for shocks today on my setup, im using sj drop brackets with 6" sj coils and james duff arms and coil buckets.. at full droop (spring within .5 inch of uncompressed length) i have 25.5" and at compression (coil windings touching) i have about 18.5". hope that gives you an idea :icon_thumby:
